Canepa: "I was not the fastest EVO rider out there"
The Italian rider is nevertheless happy of the results achieved at Magny-Cours.
Niccolò Canepa (Althea Racing Team Ducati) was finally back on top of the EVO field last Sunday as he finished the second race at Magny-Cours as best classified for the category. The former STK1000 Champion managed to ride safely under rainy conditions to secure a great result for himself and the team after a fair share of bad luck in the recent rounds.
“After finishing as second best EVO classified in Race 1 I was confident about the second race” said Niccolò Canepa. “Soon after the start I realised that the conditions were really tough, it was really difficult to stay upright so I slowed down my pace a little bit. Many of my rivals crashed so despite being not the fastest EVO rider out there last Sunday, I managed to finish to head the EVO field in the second outing. I think I did a good job, after the bad luck endured this year we were finally able to enjoy a good race day for us.”
